Our Story

Jon Tiefenthaler, a third-generation Iowa corn farmer, is better known as Farmer Jon, the face behind Farmer Jon’s Popcorn. Jon is proud to be a third-generation farmer in the Tiefenthaler family corn business. In fact, he lives next door to the popcorn fields and tends to them with gusto alongside his father, Alan.

While our products are intended to make everything from the everyday evening to special occasions more fun, popcorn is serious business in the Farmer Jon’s family. Popcorn is the only thing processed in our plants, and we take great pride in ensuring everything that leaves our location meets the highest quality standards.

Each of our gourmet-popped popcorn recipes is meticulously crafted to create extraordinary flavors, and every single handmade batch has Farmer Jon’s fresh flavor guarantee.Popcorn is our passion, but creating happy customers is what our business is truly about. Our friendly and helpful customer care team is here to serve you; please contact us if there is anything we can do to improve your product experience.

Thank you for choosing Farmer Jon’s Popcorn!

Our Popcorn is Wet Popped

Benefits of Wet Popping:

  • Better Flavor: The oil coats the kernel while it cooks, acting as a natural flavor carrier. This helps seasonings stick better.

  • Better Texture: Oil conducts heat better than air. This cooks the inside of the kernel quickly and thoroughly, yielding a tender, less "chewy" snack than air-popping.

  • Fewer Unpopped Kernels: The oil allows for even heat distribution across the bottom of the pan, meaning almost every kernel reaches the correct temperature and pressure to burst.
